Every season in the garden is different. We want you to enjoy your work in the garden to the fullest. Good tools are a gardener’s best friend. Here you find the tools you would need in spring-summer-autumn or even winter.
The winter is the barest period in the garden. Plants are in hibernation and not much can be done when it’s snowing. With light frosty weather you could hoe the garden a bit and harvest typical winter vegetables. During the frost-free period you could slowly start digging out the garden with a digging fork and remove shrubs. Our transplanting spade would be a suitable tool for removing shrubs as the blade easily cuts through the roots.
Composting can be done throughout the year but you can best start a new compost heap in the winter. If the old one isn’t empty yet you could clean this out with a compost fork. The fine mulch can be raked into the top layer of the soil with garden rake. A smaller rake would be more pleasurable to divide the mulch between plants whereas a large rake would do better in a vegetable garden.
Those in possession of a greenhouse can start to rear some vegetables during winter time. Have a look at our indoor tools specially designed for work in greenhouses.
Winter is also the perfect period to maintain your garden tools so they are ready for a new gardening season.
